Field exposure study under sheltered and open exposure conditions at different test sites in Germany: First‐year corrosion rate and atmospheric corrosivity

Abstract The corrosivity of atmospheres in Europe has changed significantly recent decades. For the Federal Republic Germany, no current values for corrosion rate based on 1‐year atmospheric exposure standard specimens can be found scientific literature after 2000. This paper presents results from a field study Berlin metropolitan area and Helgoland 2016. Based specimens, corresponding category are determined open indirect weathering ventilated enclosure as sheltering 1 year exposure. prove that categories material‐specific. Sheltered is typical situation many building components. It allows statements effect concentration airborne substances beyond normative requirements.
